Detectives with the Tampa Police Department have been working to identify suspects who may have been involved in a stabbing which left one man dead and another injured. The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday near East 5 th Avenue and North 16
th Street. Emergency calls reported that two men had been stabbed. Paramedics and police arrived promptly and found that two 21-year-old males with stab wounds. One of the men, J.R., had severe wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the scene gave detectives descriptions of two men who were seen running away from the area after the stabbing. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or suspects as the investigation is ongoing, but one suspect was identified, and has been taken into custody. The man is charged with second-degree murder.
